About the Role

This is a critical leadership role responsible for managing trade compliance across North America. Based in Charlotte, NC with hybrid work flexibility, the Trade Compliance Manager will oversee HTS classification, customs broker management, duty optimization, and internal compliance programs. You’ll serve as a key advisor to the global trade function and senior leadership, influencing both regional and cross-border strategy. Relocation assistance is available for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee North American trade compliance activities across imports and exports
• Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs, internal policies, and training programs
• Manage relationships with customs brokers and freight forwarders
• Lead HTS classification, free trade agreement application, and duty savings programs
• Conduct internal audits and implement corrective measures to minimize compliance risk
• Deliver training across departments to support regulatory awareness and adherence
• Track evolving trade regulations and ensure ongoing compliance alignment
• Collaborate with international trade teams to support global compliance initiatives

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Active U.S. Customs Broker License (required)
• 5–7+ years of experience in trade compliance, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• In-depth understanding of U.S. import/export laws and HTS classification
• Familiarity with NAFTA/USMCA, CBP, BIS, and broader tariff regulations
• Experience using SAP S/4HANA, GTS, or similar ERP/trade compliance systems
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Based in or open to relocating to Charlotte, NC (relocation support available)
