The Role

We’re hiring a Director of Procurement to take ownership of our $65 million non-OEM spend across parts, services, consumables, and indirect categories. This is a critical, senior leadership role reporting directly to the Vice President of Asset Management . You’ll oversee a national team of buyers and inventory specialists while also chairing the companywide Cost Optimization Team —tasked with delivering a minimum of $3 million in annual savings .

Key Responsibilities

• Manage $65M+ in non-OEM annual spend across all company departments and regions.
• Lead, develop, and hold accountable a distributed team of procurement professionals and inventory managers.
• Report directly to the Vice President of Asset Management and act as the company’s Subject Matter Expert for all procurement activities.
• Lead the cross-functional Cost Optimization Team , aligning initiatives to a $3M annual cost reduction target .
• Build, implement, and enforce sourcing strategies, procurement policies, and vendor compliance standards.
• Execute major contract negotiations with both national and regional vendors—targeting total value, not just lowest cost .
• Identify, qualify, and onboard alternative suppliers that improve cost, delivery, or quality.
• Optimize inventory levels and working capital—balance critical operational needs against cost and lead time realities.
• Partner with Finance, Fleet, and Operations leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking.
• Refine and drive efficiency within Microsoft D365 , improving procurement workflow visibility and control.

What You Bring

• 10+ years of procurement leadership experience, preferably in heavy equipment, construction, rental, or asset-intensive sectors .
• Demonstrated ability to manage eight-figure budgets with measurable results.
• Strong negotiation instincts—can stand your ground and extract value without damaging supplier relationships.
• Proven success in leading cross-functional teams to hit defined cost savings goals.
• ERP fluency—ideally Microsoft D365 or comparable (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
• Requisition/PO Platform-ideally Coupa or comparable.
• Bachelor’s degree required. CPSM, CPM, or related certifications highly preferred .
• Analytical mindset—able to cut through noise and focus on what moves the needle.
