Short Description

Armorpoxy is seeking a hands-on Warehouse Manager to oversee all daily operations within our 25,000 sq ft warehouse. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, this individual will lead a team of 4 full-time warehouse staff members and part-time support. This is a working manager role, with an approximate 65/35 split between physical warehouse duties and administrative responsibilities. Forklift experience and strong knowledge of OSHA safety protocols are required.

Overview

The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily warehouse operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow across all departments. This includes leading a team of full-time and part-time staff, setting clear expectations, assigning responsibilities, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

A core focus of the role is hands-on involvement in order fulfillment, shipping, receiving, inventory organization, and warehouse layout management. The WM will work closely with the Shipping department to ensure that all outgoing shipments are properly documented, accurately weighed, and entered into the order management system in a timely manner. This includes generating and verifying bills of lading (BOLs), coordinating with carriers, and managing LTL and FTL pickups.

In partnership with the Receiving team, the WM will be responsible for ensuring that all inbound deliveries are matched to purchase orders, accurately counted, logged, and stored systematically to maintain an organized warehouse environment. They will maintain clear, consistent communication with office staff regarding inventory levels, product availability, and any issues that may impact order fulfillment or customer satisfaction. The WM will act as a liaison between the warehouse and office teams, ensuring that priorities are aligned and operational needs are fully understood on both sides.

An essential component of the role is team development and performance management. The WM will conduct regular one-on-one meetings with team members to provide performance feedback, offer support, identify challenges, and recognize accomplishments. They will be responsible for onboarding new hires, ensuring all staff are properly trained on safety protocols, warehouse systems, technology platforms, and material handling equipment. The WM will also take the lead in establishing and refining operational procedures, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality checks, and performance tracking systems, to ensure productivity and accuracy across all functions.

Above all, the Warehouse Manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, compliant, and well-maintained work environment. This includes implementing and enforcing OSHA standards, conducting routine safety checks, and addressing potential hazards promptly.

The ideal candidate will take ownership of the warehouse as if it were their own business, seeking ways to improve, supporting their team, and ensuring the overall success of Armorpoxy’s warehouse operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise order fulfillment and outbound shipping to ensure accurate, on-time deliveries and proper packaging to minimize damage.
  • Oversee receiving of all inbound shipments and coordinate with the Production team to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of all received materials in accordance with company procedures.
  • Confirm daily attendance and assign tasks to warehouse staff, ensuring everyone is properly directed and productive.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment at all times.
  • Establish and enforce inventory control systems; conduct monthly physical inventory in collaboration with the Operations Manager.
  • Address and resolve internal and external inquiries or complaints related to warehouse operations.
  • Open and close the warehouse daily, adhering to standard operating hours (8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.).

Key Success Metrics for the Position

  • Meet 90% of project deadlines based on projects listed by Upper Management
  • Less than 2 shipping errors / week, 52 weeks of the year.
  • Assure that all team gets at least 20 hours continued training / year
  • 52 weeks a year with no safety incidents

Education, skills, qualifications, and experience required to perform the responsibilities of the position:

  • High School degree and some college. College degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in a warehouse / production environment with knowledge of shipping, receiving proper packaging, facility equipment and budget oversight.
  • Must be forklift certified in both sit down and deep reach forklifts
  • Minimum 3 years management experience of overseeing a warehouse and direct reports of similar size.
  • Ability to deal with all levels of employees from warehouse to CEO
  • Ability to manage and motivate a diverse staff and coordinate with all departments in the company
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed i.e. early morning, weekends and nights when called upon.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements and safety requirements.

Machines, computers or equipment used:

  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Excel, Outlook, Word.
  • Experience using a ERP or alike system to control inventory and ship orders
  • Experience with booking LTL shipping.
  • Drive and operate deep reach forklift and sit down forklift

Essential physical functions of position:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
