Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounting Manager to oversee all aspects of payroll administration and revenue auditing. The successful candidate will ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, compliance with tax regulations, and meticulous auditing of income and revenue streams across the hotel’s departments. This role is essential in maintaining financial integrity and supporting operational excellence.

Payroll Key Responsibilites

  • Process and administer bi-weekly payroll for all hotel employees
  • Maintain up-to-date payroll records, including time and attendance, overtime, PTO
  • Coordinate with department heads to ensure timesheets are submitted and approved on schedule
  • Audit timesheets/tips and verify accuracy before payroll processing
  • Prepare payroll-related reports, journal entries, and reconciliations
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws regarding payroll, taxes, and reporting
  • Work closely with P&C on matters related to new hires, terminations, promotions, and compensation adjustments
  • Ensure confidentiality and data protection of all payroll-related information

Income Audit Key Responsibilites

  • Audit daily income reports from various revenue-generating outlets (rooms, food and beverage, spa, etc.), reconciling discrepancies and ensuring proper coding
  • Conduct regular audits of income postings, credit card reconciliations, and point-of-sale reports to ensure all revenue is recorded accurately
  • Generate income audit reports and provide financial insights to management for operational decision-making
  • Ensure all procedures align with internal controls and accounting standards
  • Assist with month-end closing activities, including journal entries and revenue reconciliations

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial management, with at least 2 years in a managerial role, preferably within the hospitality industry
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls
  • Experience with accounting software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and Microsoft Excel

Skills/Specialized Knowledge

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and budgeting processes
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of hospitality industry financial regulations and compliance requirements is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and accounting software

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time while working at a desk or computer
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds (e.g., filing documents or office supplies)
  • Occasional travel for training, audits, or other business-related activities
